BBMS track and field athletes off to provincial championships

FSJ will be well represented at next week’s BC School Sports Provincial Track and Field championships in Langley, B.C. with quite a few coming from Bert Bowes Middle School!

  • Berkley Holmes, Prielle Bergen, Marae Nash and Aliya Moore make up the team for the grade 8 girls’ 4×100-metre relay.
  • Grade 8 athletes Harpreet Raike and Niko Mackay also qualified in javelin, while Niko added a second event qualification in shot put.
  • Diego Lascari Rodriguez (grade 9) will be competing in discus and Brady Bone (grade 8) in race walk. Beau Almeia (grade 9) qualified in the 800 metres but later withdrew due to injury.
  • Kaleb Stevens-Fleming (grade 8), who qualified in the long jump, high jump and 200 metres, is also highlighted as he cleared a height in high jump that could place him among the top competitors in Canada.
