BBMS Receives Welding Kits for Metal Work Classes

Fort St. John, BC — School District 60 (Peace River North) is pleased to announce the receipt of
18 CWB WeldSAFE PPE kits from the CWB Foundations, made possible through the generous support of TC Energy in collaboration with the CWB Foundation. This initiative strenghens hands-on safety training for students participating in welding and trades exploration programs.

The CWB WeldSAFE kits have been distributed to schools across the district, including
Hudson’s Hope School, Prespatou Elementary–Secondary School, Dr. Kearney Middle School,
Bert Bowes Middle School, and Clearview School. Each kit includes essential personal
protective equipment (PPE) such as welding helmets, respirators, eye and ear protection, gloves,
and jackets, ensuring students have the proper gear for safe, hands-on learning in industry-
aligned environments. The CWB WeldSAFE kits arrived at BBMS today and were shared with the teacher (Ms. Peever) to be used by her students!

This initiative aligns with Peace River North’s commitment to career pathways, skilled trades
education, and strong partnerships with industry. By integrating professional-grade safety
equipment into classrooms, students are better prepared for future training and employment
opportunities.

The CWB WeldSAFE program, delivered by the CWB Foundation, provides free safety kits
and curriculum-aligned resources at no cost to schools, to supporting safe exploration of welding
and metal fabrication.
