Buses & Winter Weather

We just wanted to connect with parents on the issue of busing during cold weather. As always, the School District will be providing updates for bus cancelations and parents are advised to check the District webpage. Please note that schools will remain open during bus cancelations for those who are able to attend. Those parents who elect to keep their children at home are asked to contact the office to verify their child’s absence.

Bert Bowes ~ “Orange Shirt” Day

Bert Bowes students participated in the annual orange shirt campaign to raise awareness of the residential school experience. “Orange Shirt Day” is an event that started in 2013 and was designed to promote awareness of the impact this system had on Indigenous communities in Canada.

Students shared their thoughts on the residential school experience on miniature orange shirts that will be on display throughout the week.
