Today we honour Orange Shirt Day. On this day we pay tribute to all those who have been affected by the wrongs of the residential school system and honour the survivors. The big idea behind this day, is every child matters. We will take time today to learn about the truth. Learning about the history and legacy of residential schools is a positive step forward in moving from truth to eventual reconciliation. At 1:45 pm, Christy Jordan-Fenton and Margaret Pokiak-Fenton will present to the student body with their own connections to the residential school system. Margaret is a local author who published Fatty Legs: A True Story. Parents are welcome to attend the event in our school gymnasium.
The next Parent Advisory Counsil meeting will be on Wednesday, September 26 at 9:30 am in the Office. All parents/guardians are welcome and encouraged to attend.
